   The options for Art & Design are:

   1 Windows and Doorways - Alice in Wonderland, maybe items that trigger doorways to open in people's minds for example seeing an item related to dead relative or friend might trigger you to think about them.
   2 Technology - no ideas really for this one except for how technology has taken over our lives, maybe doing a city of technology or transformers made form recent technology e.g. iphones, ps3s, laptops etc..
   3 Festivals and Carnivals - Mardi Gras/Venetian theme? Or Leeds and Glastonbury, I could paint a pair of wellies, umbrella, a tent!?
   4 Altering the Scale - there has to be a specific reason for altering the scale of the things I choose, like making celebrities larger than others in photos because of their social status, etc..
   5 Significant Events - has to be a significant event, kind of stupid seeing as basically everyone that does this will do Haiti and this can lower everyone's marks, stupid stupid system! I was thinking maybe Michael Jackson's death?

   The options for Textiles & Fashion are:

   1 Surfaces - snoooooooooooooooooze but go for it!
   2 Rangoli Patterns - has to finish with a textiles piece for the home so to be honest it's not really what I want to do as I want to take Fashion at uni but maybe I can be convinced!
   3 Organic Forms - I kind of hate this but feel free to mention any ideas..
   4 Embellishment - this is the one I'm mainly focused on so far, I was thinking about looking at vegas show girl costumes, Burlesque Costumes, Moulin Rouge style outfits and Rio carnival costumes..the brief also says they traditionally convey position and status.
   5 African Influences - I have to produce a fashion accessory for this, could be alright although I did a lot of work based on African Culture for GCSE.

   Any ideas would be really great! Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers

     i'm doing this textiles exam too i have chosen the african influences one because there is so much to do about tribes, animals, landscapes, jewellery, fashion etc and thinking of creating a bag for the fashion accessory. but you could make some jewellery or a piece of clothing e.g. a skirt if you chose that one.

     totally agree with the surfaces option BORING!! sorry cant convince thought it was an awful option

     i was stuck on the embellishment one too thought that one was great sounds like some great ideas you have for the embellishment one they would be really good and i think you can make anything for that one so if you are interested in fashion you could still make something fashion related making a piece of clothing maybe

     rangoli patterns wasnt sure on that either because it felt really confined doing something for the home nd it was a bit weird too.

     as for the art one, the festivals and carnivals one sounds great you could even think about traditional festivals of different cultures with all the bright colours costumes and jewellery etc.
     if you did significant events think of something original MJ would be good but a lot of people may think of that too maybe you could think of disasters in general like the tsunami and tornados etc. or maybe something big to a single persons life like children or marriage?? really not sure

   im doing a solo to diamonds arfe a girls best friend...and i want a costume like the girl wears in the video...a moulin rouge burlesque type of costume...i like the leotard kind with the tails but i cant find a dancewear distributor that sells to public ppl. i dont care if its a halloween costume aslong as i can move....please help me!!! anything that would be cute to diamonds are a girls best friend, broadway-ish costume!!

   Halloween Costume ideas:?
   Ok so I'm trying to figure out exactly what I want to be for Halloween this year. Yes I know its a ways away still but I might be ordering it or making it...so I don't want to leave it until the last minute cause I'll be busy starting September.
   So far, these are my ideas:
   1. Catwoman (the Michelle Pfeiffer version)
   2. Sexy Hogwarts student
   3. Pin-up sailor (with the whole 1930's-50's style)

   So ya these are my main ideas right now...keep in mind I'm a brunette with a slim figure so I'm hesitant on costumes for blondes.
